Blue-green foliage and dark blue flowers. 3-5’, Early-midsummer.
australis 'Purple Smoke'
Darker purple flowers than australis and charcoal-gray stems. 3', Late spring to early summer.
'Carolina Moonlight'  Zone 4-9  This long blooming, heat and drought tolerant hybrid of B. Sphaerocarpa and B. alba produces 18", soft-yellow flower spikes above blue-green foliage.  Early summer.  4 1/2' x 3'.
minor (Dwarf Wild Indigo)
Blue flowers the same in size and color as australis, but on foliage that is compact and half the size.

'Red Shift' PPAF
Yes, there is actually a cold hardy red coreopsis now.  Not only is it cold hardy, and very long blooming, but it produces large 2" flowers, flowers that alos have varying amounts of yellow depending on the time of year and temperature.  In fact, at certain times  there will be no two flowers that are the same, a veritable cornucopia of color and bloom!  Part of the Big Bang series from Darrel Probst.  Although physics, related to the Big Bang, shifted to red means that something is moving away from us, you will only want to move closer to see all the wonderfully diffences in the flowers.  30-36" Late summer - early autumn.

Short compact pink variety with threadleaf type foliage. 12 -15”, Early summer - frost.
r. ‘Sweet Dreams’ PPAF
Abundant, relatively large, light pink to white flowers that suffuse to a vibrant magenta-red center over thread-leaf type foliage. Destined for huge popularity. 16-20", Summer to frost.

Vibrant deep pink flowers with rose-red centers.  Very hardy sport of C. 'Sweet Dreams'.  18".  Summer to frost.
tripteris 'Flower Tower' (Giant Tickseed)
Thick stems with dark green, leathery leaves that rise eight plus feet and end in large bouquets of golden-yellow flowers.  Vast improvement over the species with stems that are 2 to 3 times thicker, a more profuse longer bloom, and is overall more robust.  Good winter interest and natural Finch feeder.  Excellent Midwest native that is superb for use as a privacy screen, natural fence or specimen plant.  A Van Hoorn Nurseries introduction.  5' wide x 8' tall.  Late summer - early fall.
verticillata ‘Moonbeam’
A scattered mass of small yellow flowers borne on fine threadleaf foliage. 16-20”, Summer – frost. 1992 PPA. “Perennial Plant of the Year”

New threadleaf coreopsis that displays yellow flowers with a ring of burgundy-red around the crown that bleeds outward to the tips of each petal.  Very cold hardy.  24-28".  Early summer-autumn.
