Plant Name & Description
Hosta (Plantain-Lilies)  Zones 3–9
‘Abiqua Drinking Gourd'
Back by popular demand.  Uniquely formed frosty blue-green leaves that are so puckered they resemble cups.  White flowers in early summer.  Medium.  Shade to 3/4 sun.
'Abiqua Moonbeam’
Ovate medium-green leaves with a clean gold edge. Great when used in combination with 'August Moon' and 'September Sun', as they are both sports of 'August Moon'.  Midseason pale lavender flowers on 20 ' 30" scapes.  68"w x 27"h, Shade to full sun.
'Adrian's Glory'
This beautiful sport of H. 'Gold Standard' is named after my mentor, friend and father, Adrian Van Hoorn.  Heart shaped leaves are blue-green with chartreuse centers and have a thick substance that makes it very slug resistant.  The best I have seen of all the 'Gold Standard' sports.  July blooming lavender flowers on 30" scapes above foliage 36"w x 20"h.  Shade to 3/4 sun.
‘Allan P. McConnell’
Well-formed compact edger has dark green oval leaves with a fine white margin. Vigorous grower. Mid to late season medium purple bud to lavender flowers on 19" scapes.  39"w x 13"h, Shade to full sun.
Alvatine Taylor'  Very large, blue ovate leaves with wide margins of chartreuse, changing to medium gold by midsummer.  Near white flowers with pale lavender mid-petal stripe appear midsummer on 42" scapes.  The wide gold edges do not melt out, making it an excellent alternative to Frances Williams.  58"w x 30" h, Shade to 3/4 sun.
‘Antioch’
Vigorous Hosta with dark green leaves which emerge with a yellow border that later changes to white. Midsummer lavender-blue flowers on 16-34" scapes.  56"w x 24"h. Shade to 3/4 sun.
‘August Moon’
This award-winning variety has uniformly crinkled yellow leaves that hold their color all Season. Midseason near-white flowers. Try in combination with ‘September Sun’ and ‘Abiqua Moonbeam’. 42"w x 20"h, Shade to 3/4 sun.
‘Big Daddy’
Robust Hosta with cupped blue-green puckered leaves. Early bell-shaped flowers on 24-32" scapes.  66w x 25"h,  Shade to 3/4 sun.
‘Birchwood Parky’s Gold’
Good vigorous gold that puts up an abundance of midseason flowers on 29-36" scapes. Deserves much wider use. 43"w x 17"h, Shade to full sun.
‘Blue Angel’
Huge, heavily textured, blue leaves are held horizontal below long lasting clusters of summer-blooming, Hyacinth-like, white flower clusters on 36-44" scapes.  A mature clump can easily reach 6 feet plus across. Our best big blue. Tough and adaptable for landscaping. Beware of cheap imitations, this is the true ‘Blue Angel’. 70"w x 32"h, Shade to 3/4 sun.
‘Blue Cadet’
Vigorous dwarf blue with ovate leaves. It’s vigor and adaptability make it a good choice for landscaping. Midseason lavender flowers on 14-21" scapes.  38"w x 15"h, Shade to 3/4 sun.
‘Blue Mammoth’
Thick, powder blue leaves with a good puckering effect. Vigorous for a large blue Hosta. Early near white flowers on 30-36" scapes.  65"w x 34"h, Shade to 3/4 sun.
‘Blue Mouse Ears'
Hosta of the Year for 2008!  Small, rounded, slightly cupped blue green leaves with a thick substance.  Lavender flowers on 12" scapes.  10"w x 8"h.  Partial shade.
‘Blue Umbrellas'
Round puckered leaves are held horizontal making the effect of umbrellas.  Suberb when mature.  72" w x 33"h.  Shade to 3/4 sun. with a thick substance.
‘Bold Ribbons’
Slightly glossy, always clean looking, strap- shaped, medium-green leaves with a bold gold edge that turns white as the season progresses. What really makes this Hosta stand out is a vigorous slowly spreading habit.  This makes it a superb groundcover and a terrific choice for landscaping.  Nicely contrasting midseason light-purple flowers on 28" scapes.  Tough and adaptable.  30"w x 14"h.  Midseason - late summer.  Shade to full sun.
‘Brim Cup'
The Hosta 'Wide Brim' parentage is obvious in this widely chartreuse-edged, cupped leaf.  It has the same, if not a wider, variegated border than 'Wide Brim' but is different in that the leaves have a heavier substance, are very cupped and held horizontal.  Midseason pale lavender flowers on 21-25" scapes.  40"w x 14"h, Shade to 3/4 sun.
